MINUTES    of  a  Meeting  of  the  Planning  Committee  held  in  the  Old Library, Parish Hall, Dinas Powys, on Monday, 8th February 2010.

 

PRESENT:   Cllrs.   M.  Hartrey   (Chairman),   R.   A.  Foxwell,   Mrs.  M.  R.  Hayley   and S. T. Thomas.

 

32.     APOLOGIES  FOR  ABSENCE     Cllrs. R. R. Grigg, Mrs. J. Jones, C. J. Williams and  J. H. Williams.

 

33.     CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES – The Minutes of the Planning Committee  Meeting held on Monday, 14th December 2009 having been previously circulated were  taken  as  read,  and  on  the  Motion of Cllr. R. A. Foxwell  and  seconded by Cllr. Mrs. M. R. Hayley  it was  RESOLVED  -  THAT  such  Minutes be approved as a true record and signed by the Chairman.

 

34.     MATTERS ARISING FROM MINUTES:

 

          Public Houses in Village – Poster Advertising

 

          The Meeting noted that the Three Horseshoes had taken down advertising banners  following  intervention  by  the  Vale’s  Enforcement  Officer  but  had since  put  up  new  banners  without  obtaining  planning permission.  The Clerk advised that  he  had  once  again  contacted  the  Vale's  Enforcement Officer and Cllr. M. Hartrey confirmed that Cllr. Mrs. V. M. Hartrey was due to meet with the landlady and the Enforcement Officer on Wednesday, 10th February 2010 to discuss the matter.

 

35.     PLANNING APPLICATIONS – Details of the Planning Applications were considered and the Committee’s recommendations are contained in the Schedule attached.

 

36.     ANY OTHER BUSINESS.

 

Dinas Powys Conservation Area

 

Cllr. S. T. Thomas asked if the Council was still in possession of a plan of the old conservation boundaries and the new boundaries.  The Clerk was requested to investigate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Field adjacent to Barry Road

 

Cllr.  S.  T.  Thomas  referred  to  a  field  just  outside  of  Dinas  Powys  on  the Barry Road which had been the subject of an enforcement order sometime ago for unauthorised works. Cllr. S. T. Thomas referred to further recent works involving a gravel track and large sewer type pipes. The Clerk was asked to investigate.

 

St Cyres School

 

Cllr. S. T. Thomas reported his concerns about the proposed redevelopment of St. Cyres School and a previous undertaking given by the Vale of Glamorgan Council that the local community would be consulted about any proposed plans. The Clerk was asked to investigate.
